Jansen Panettiere was Hayden’s older brother and tragically died at age 28. His family provides insight into his legacy and the causes of his passing.
“Jansen’s heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit,” his family, including his famous older sister and his father and mother Skip and Lesley, told Fox News Digital in a statement.
The family added, “His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered.”
“Though it offers little solace, the Medical Examiner reported Jansen’s sudden passing was due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve complications,” the family added.
It is unknown if the condition was known to the family or Jansen prior to his death.
A previous report from police detailed that “there were no obvious signs of trauma.”
Family members expressed deep gratitude for all the love and support they received during this difficult time. They requested that privacy be respected.

Fox News reached the Panettiere family to get their opinion, but they didn’t respond immediately.
Fox News received the initial scene report from Orangetown Police Department. The report showed that Jansen’s Nyack apartment was occupied by officers responding to a call about an “unresponsive male with CPR in progress” shortly after 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, February 19. ”
Jansen’s friend Benjamin Brown was performing CPR at Jansens’ home when officers arrived. They found him lying on his back on the living room floor. An EMT responded and declared Jansen deceased at 5:11 pm.
A performer like his sister, Jansen was also a gifted artist, often sharing his work on social media.
In recent years, Jansen appeared on “The Walking Dead.” According to his IMDB page, the late actor has several projects in production.
