Los Angeles Set to Oust Controversial Woke DA George Gascón

We have written about George Gascon, the District Attorney of Los Angeles County. The prosecutor is backed by George Soros and has been a very soft-on-crime DA. Tinseltown is a lawless place because criminals are aware they will not receive the punishments they deserve.

If early returns are accurate, then he may soon be searching for a new job because his competitor is ahead by a large margin as of the time this article was written.

Los Angeles County District’s first term has been a turbulent one. Atty. George Gascon’s re-election campaign is likely to fail, given that he is trailing Nathan Hochman in the early results by almost 20 percentage points.

Gascon was elected in 2020 with a promise of restorative justice and reform. Hochman, a former federal prosecutor as well as a defense attorney, has spent the last few months accusing Gascon of being responsible for an increase in crime and homelessness in Los Angeles.

Early results were not surprising because polls showed he was in serious trouble.

The last of three polls conducted on Sunday by The Times and the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies on the race showed that the incumbent was behind by 25 points. This is the same margin he had in the survey of August 18 and is only marginally better than the 30-point deficit he suffered in the poll of October 8.

He didn’t read the writing on the walls for some reason.

Gascon, despite the negative signs for his campaign during the weeks before election day, was upbeat in an interview he gave to the Times on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the California Democratic Party election event held in a large hotel ballroom downtown L.A.

Hochman, who is not a conservative but will bring a new type of justice to LA, has a very different style.

Nathan Hochman, in an interview in January with Nathan Hochman, not only revealed the dark side of Gascon – he has no experience as either a defense or prosecuting attorney in a courtroom – but Hochman also laid down his vision and policy for the District Attorney’s office starting from Day 1.

George Gascon will not be able to make me cry. I have watched with sadness the decline of both my city and my state. His little experiment in reformative justice caused far too much pain to a great many people.

Bye.
