It seems that when there is a high-profile or mass shooting the race is on to identify the shooter to try and determine their motives, as well as what political side they are on.
Trump’s assassination was not an exception. The background of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the gunman who was identified as the shooter by the FBI, was immediately searched. You knew you would get bad Democratic views on the matter. I’ve written about one earlier, from a staffer for Rep. Bennie Thomson (D-MS).
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-CA, decided to add to the misinformation and bad takes of the moment.

According to reports, it’s true that the alleged gunman was registered as a Republican. Swalwell leaves out two important pieces of information. The first is that ActBlue reports the alleged gunman donated on Inauguration Day, Jan. 2021. ActBlue is a website that helps raise money for Democratic causes. He gave to the “Progressive Turnout Project.”
You’ll hear today from the mainstream media that the failed assassin was a “registered Republican.”
The truth is that he donated to the “Progressive Turnout Project” through ActBlue on Biden’s Inauguration Day. The project’s entire goal is to “rally Democrats to vote.”

It doesn’t seem very Republican.
It’s not uncommon for people to change their party registrations to try and influence the race of an opposing party. It was seen, for instance, when Democrats switched to vote for Nikki Haley to accumulate votes that weren’t for Trump. Registration is therefore likely to mean nothing.
Swalwell, of course, doesn’t mention that. Why lie when you could ruin the narrative against Republicans that you are trying to sell?
Americans were not shy to dunk Swalwell in the face for his efforts, and he received a big ratio. Twitchy highlighted some of the reactions.

Was I not expecting them to also blame us? These people are no longer in power. Swalwell, a Chinese spy fornicator who is also a pant sh**ter, ignores an open primary and acts blue donation where Dems are urged to register under the Republican Party to harm Trump during the primaries.

All this deflection won’t change the fact that Democrats, including Joe Biden, have intensified their attacks against Trump to demonize and humanize him, as an “existential threat.” They can’t delete everything that they did on the internet.
