Elon Musk’s feud with the Anti-Defamation League is getting hotter. The owner of X (formerly Twitter) announced this week he intends to sue the organization for misleading advertising about the amount of antisemitic material on the platform. He claims that the ADL is a long-term enemy of the company, targeting its advertising revenue.
During a recent appearance on MSNBC, Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, claimed that Musk’s vendetta against the organization was motivated by anti-Jewish bigotry. “We’re just a small nonprofit,” the CEO said. “Blaming the Jews, if you will, that’s classic scapegoating. It’s not what happened here.”

Greenblatt said in an interview with Abby Phillips on CNN that there is a “problem across all social media platforms” and that anti-Jewish incidents have reached “historic levels” in the United States.
Musk tweeted on Monday that the ADL was trying to destroy X, and had already caused a significant decline in revenue.
Since the acquisition, The @ADL has been trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic

Greenblatt, who claims to be serious in his efforts to curb anti-Jewish prejudice, seems to use the term “antisemitism”, quite liberally, when discrediting the opposition. He seems to be just like his hard-left comrades in not being concerned with reducing the seriousness of a word by overusing it. Musk’s anti-Jewish motivation is absurd. The owner of X is not anti-Jewish.
It is a case where a company has finally fought back against groups such as the ADL who, while claiming to be champions of bigotry, are in fact political actors promoting a political agenda. The ADL’s smear campaign against Musk was much less aggressive before Musk purchased the platform. Fair enough, it could be that the previous management gave in to whatever demands the ADL made.
Musk said on Wednesday that the ADL had “kicked off a massive Twitter campaign less than one week after the acquisition closed.” This means that they didn’t give Musk the chance to run the company before attacking it. It also indicates that the smear campaigns are based on politics rather than fighting racism.

Literally nothing had changed about the site.
Our US revenue is still 60% down from that campaign, but slowly improving. pic.twitter.com/7vh5dtdDqi

Musk announced recently that he will be releasing information to expose the ADL and other groups who advocated censorship of the platform in the next two weeks. These revelations may be just as important as the Twitter Files. It is not clear how Musk’s lawsuit against the ADL will turn out at this time. One thing is for sure: these leftist groups are going to have a harder time bending X’s will than other social media websites.
