Chris Cillizza was among several CNN employees fired on Thursday. He is a cheerleader for the Democrats and a CNN analyst that I have often mocked.
Variety reported at first that Cillizza and Alison Kosik, Martin Savidge, and Alex Field were among the cut.

On Wednesday, CEO Chris Licht made the announcement in an internal memo. He stated that the changes would be a “gut punch to the network.”

Licht says those being notified today are largely paid contributors and then tomorrow CNN “will notify impacted employees.”

Cillizza was fired because of his position in the network. However, given his tendency to make terrible political analyses, it is hard to believe that this was not the right decision.
Cillizza confirmed the firing via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
