Ismail Haniyeh was one of the senior Hamas leaders assassinated during an airstrike that occurred in the early morning hours in Tehran, Iran’s capital. The Revolutionary Guards Corps, along with Hamas, confirmed this on Wednesday. The terrorist group of the Palestinians has suffered a major blow.

Israel immediately claimed responsibility for the murder after it had pledged to kill Haniyeh, as well as other Hamas leaders, following the terror group’s October 7 attack which killed over 1,200 Israelis including infants and children. Around 250 people were held hostage.

Haniyeh was Hamas’s most senior political leader when he was in Tehran to witness the swearing-in of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He was sworn into office amid chants of “Death To America, Israel!”

Israel does not usually comment on the operations of Mossad – its national intelligence.

Ayatollah Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, has promised “severe revenge” after both Hamas and Iran confirmed Haniyeh was dead. Khamenei wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Israel prepared a severe punishment” for itself.

The terrorist, criminal Zionist regime has martyred and caused us grief by killing our guests on our soil. It has also laid the foundation for harsh punishment.

Don’t the Islamists have a great way with words?

Khamenei continued his obscene propagandist.

Haniyeh, the martyr, was prepared to give his life honorably in this noble battle for many long years. He had prepared himself for martyrdom and sacrificed his family and children on this path.

Unbelievable — but it’s not.

“Dignified battle”? In the eyes of Islamist terrorists, including their “supreme commander,” murdering, torturing — including burning alive– and raping innocent people — including children and their parents — is a “dignified war.”

The Revolutionary Guard reiterated Khamenei’s warning against revenge against the Jewish State.

This crime by the Zionist regime is sure to be met with a brutal and painful reaction from the vast and powerful resistance front, especially from Islamic Iran.

Israel is more forthcoming about its attacks in Lebanon than its actions in Iran.

The Israeli military announced swiftly on Tuesday night that it had launched a separate attack in Beirut’s south suburbs against Mr. Shukr. It described him as a senior officer responsible for the Saturday strike which killed 12 children and teens in a town under Israeli control. Hezbollah’s response to the brazen attack on a senior commander is not clear.

Will Iran carry out its threat of revenge? If Iran does, they will do so through proxy. Even the “Supreme Leader” Ayatollah Khamenei would not be stupid or fanatic enough to attack Israel directly.
