U.S. Intelligence officials confirmed there was a credible Iranian conspiracy to assassinate Donald Trump, the former president. Former President Donald Trump recently talked about the threat to his own life.

Tehran was also found to be trying to influence the upcoming US presidential election. This raises concern about foreign influences in American politics.

The Trump campaign issued a statement Tuesday, announcing the former president was briefed about the issue. The campaign assured that law enforcement was working to protect former President George W. Bush and that the Iranian regime preferred Vice President Kamala Harris to be in the Oval Office.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence briefed President Trump earlier today about the real and specific threat from Iran to assassinate Trump in an attempt to destabilize the United States and sow chaos.

“Intelligence officials identified that these coordinated and continued attacks have increased in the last few months. Law enforcement officials from all agencies work to ensure that President Trump is protected, and the elections are free of interference.

The terror regime in Iran is afraid of President Trump’s strength and determination. He will not let anything stop him from fighting for the American people or making America great again. Steven Cheung is the Trump Campaign Communications Director.

In a post on Truth Social, he thanked Congress for passing the measure that allowed more Secret Service protection.

Iran has made me a target of serious threats to my life. The U.S. military is waiting and watching. Iran has already tried to make moves that failed but will do so again. It’s not a good thing for anyone. I’m surrounded by men, guns, and weapons that I’ve never seen before. Thanks to Congress for unanimously voting to give more money to the Secret Service. There were no “NO” votes, and it was strictly bipartisan. It’s nice to see Republicans and Democrats come together on something. A former president’s attack is an act of murder for the attacker.

NBC News reported the plot was motivated by Iran’s desire to avenge General Qasem Solimani’s assassination in a drone attack ordered by the ex-president in 2020. According to the report, Iran has taken several steps to retaliate. These include cyberattacks against U.S. political campaigns.

Trump, however, has continued to host public rallies. He has also made other public appearances.

Iranian state media dismissed the accusations, calling them “unsubstantiated” and “malicious.”

The U.S. Intelligence agencies are still on high alert. This is especially true as the election in 2024 approaches and there is growing concern about Iran’s attempts to influence the democratic process.

Recently, it was revealed that hackers from the regime targeted Trump’s presidential campaign between June and July of this year. They obtained secret documents. The hackers tried to pass on the information to President Joe Biden’s campaign when he was still running. The Biden campaign has not acted upon the information.

Two individuals had attempted to assassinate the former President. So far, neither incident has been connected to Iran. In his writings, Ryan Wesley Routh – the second would-be assassin – called on Iran for help in assassinating the former president. He wrote: “You’re free to assassinate Trump.”
