Van Jones, CNN’s senior political commentator, warned that Amber Rose’s speech at the Republican National Convention supporting former President Trump is the “most harmful speech” for Democrats.
The pundit expressed concern over Rose’s appearance at the RNC. She noted that Rose appeals to liberals who are frustrated by Democratic policies.
Jones, who was covering the first evening of the convention in Milwaukee, said that Rose’s speech was “probably the most dangerous for the Democratic Coalition”.
Rose’s speech at the GOP convention told a story about her political transformation. She explained how she went from believing Trump was a racist, to supporting his movement.
The model, a former Kanye West lover, explained how her Trump-supporting dad challenged her to do research on the former president outside of the media. She accepted his challenge and has become a Trump supporter.
“I understand Donald Trump and his followers don’t give a damn if you are Black, White or gay, it’s just love. Then it dawned on me: these are my people.” She said, “This is where I belong.”
Jones said, “That’s a young woman of color.” She is describing what many people feel, that if they are around too many liberals, they might be criticized or not be able to speak their minds. She spoke about it very well.”
He added that she was more famous than anyone on the CNN panel. I’m telling you this. “Way more famous.”
“And to the extent that they are trying to break up our coalition, this was a bunker-buster right there.”
Anderson Cooper, CNN’s anchor, also spoke about the impact of Rose’s speech. He responded to Jones: “And that’s something we’ve talked about, there are speakers in the room and speakers who speak on the screen.” She speaks to her audience through the television screen.”
Rose made her first waves in May with her support of Trump, posting pictures of herself wearing a MAGA hat and a bikini on social media. She also shared photos of her meeting Trump and the former First Lady Melania Trump.
She told TMZ that Donald Trump was not a supporter of women’s issues when asked at the time about her new pro-Trump stance. – He is trying to Make America great again – this includes women.
She added, “We did our research. We’re no longer going to be brainwashed by the left.”
