Ethel Kennedy was remembered on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle Church. She had died the previous week after suffering a stroke. She was married to the late Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and had 11 kids, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

A variety of people delivered remarks including Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Biden delivered the final remarks.

There were still some interesting comments and exchanges. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, recognized Obama Biden, and Bill Clinton.

Biden doesn’t look happy in this picture.

Pelosi sat in the same row as Biden, with Obama and Clinton sitting between them. According to reports, they haven’t spoken to each other.

Bill Clinton made this comment:

“I will tell you this. I thought your mother was the cat’s meow. She would flirt with me in the most innocent ways,” Clinton, 78, said in his eulogy for Kennedy. “I remember once I said, “We’re not at replacement population anymore and all the politics are anti-immigrant. What are we going to do…We need more people like you.”

The first part of his statement is not appropriate; I have no idea what he means by the last part. Was he referring to the replacement theory? Hillary Clinton will not be happy with what he said. She didn’t seem to be present.

The most interesting exchange between Barack Obama, and Joe Biden was without a doubt this one. Obama looked visibly upset, and his arms were crossed in a defensive position. Here’s the tension:

Joe was the assistant to Obama. Joe did give him a look at one point which showed me how much he dislikes him. Obama seemed to be explaining something while Biden was asking. He said “No” once.

A lot of speculation was made. Here’s a sample.

Joe: (Looks up and away, likely towards Jesus on the Cross. Looking back at BO, he gets a sickly look as if what he just heard had sunk in.
