Why Is It a Big Deal that Joe Biden is Using a CPAP Machine to Help Him Sleep?

Joe Biden, who appeared in public Wednesday, displayed some strange marks on his face.

The fact that these marks are still visible four or five hours after the president is supposed to have woken up raises a serious question. Biden is said to wear the CPAP because he has sleep apnea, a sleeping disorder that affects around 20 million Americans.

It’s true. Sleep apnea occurs frequently. It can be serious for an 80-year-old man.

OSA is a condition where a blockage of the airway stops a patient from breathing during sleep, which causes their blood oxygen levels to fall. According to Washington Examiner, this pattern, medically called an apneic event, triggers the brain’s “survival response” causing the patient to wake up to respond to an emergency and start breathing.

Sleep Foundation says that you can die of sleep apnea. “Observational studies have shown that OSA increases the risk of sudden deaths. The risk of sudden death is higher among older people, those with critical illnesses, and people with severe OSA.

Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician who examined the president in February, did not mention a condition that could have a serious impact on his health and even cause his death.

Politico reported in 2008 that Biden had suffered from an irregular heartbeat, which doctors believed was “linked” to Biden’s sleep apnea, a problem that he had repeatedly. That was 15 years ago when Biden ran for vice president. Why didn’t the White House physician inform the nation about the president’s health in February last year?

Washington Free Beacon:

Studies show that Biden’s failure to use a CPAP device for more than a decade may have increased his risk of dementia.

Untreated sleep apnea causes intermittent oxygen deprivation, leading to certain brain cells’ death. According to Australian neuroscientist Elizabeth Coulson, these brain cells are the same ones that “die in dementia.” Coulson, along with her co-authors, found that untreated sleep disorders can increase the risk of dementia.

A 2022 study in the National Library of Medicine concluded that sleep apnea was associated with an increased risk of dementia. This included Alzheimer’s. A study published in the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology in May found that those with sleep apnea, who spend less deep sleep, are more likely than others to experience brain health issues that can lead to Alzheimer’s, dementia, or stroke.

Biden’s recent embarrassing and troubling errors of fact – saying that Putin “was losing the war in Iraq – are frightening. We must not forget that this man is capable of launching a few thousand nuclear weapons. What if he hadn’t slept well? Is it possible, knowing what the White House knew for months, that Joe Biden has lost control of America’s nuke arsenal? Who is the real boss?

Frankly, I am tired of being lied about Joe Biden’s health. We are aware of the political implications if Biden is incapacitated and unable to fulfill his duties. Democrats are concerned about 2024. They should be, given the current state of world affairs and the economic situation.

Have we gone so far as to put personal ambitions or the power of a political party ahead of doing what is right for our country?

The White House must be honest about the President’s weaknesses. If they are serious, Biden must step down.
