Zachary Levi, an actor who endorsed former President Trump, encouraged “closed conservatives” to come out in Hollywood after his endorsement.
In an Instagram Live video posted Sunday, the 44-year-old “Shazam!” star responded to “The View’s” co-host Whoopi Goldenberg’s claim that Hollywood is a “right-leaning town,” where “very few people bite because they are Republican.”
Levi was not happy with her remarks and pointed out that out of thousands of actors working in Hollywood today, she could only name Jon Voight or Dennis Quaid. He said actors like them only seem to come out as Republicans “at a certain stage of your career to get away”
Levi explained: “And that means there are plenty of people — and they’ve sent me a lot of messages — in my Hollywood industry who are afraid to publicly admit that they would support Donald Trump or that they were conservatives in any other way.” You don’t notice them. They are not as prominent or prevalent because they understand the ramifications of this type of —.”
Levi, who has a reputation for being a fearful man, said that the industry’s image had been “eroded,” after the pandemic lockdowns as well as recent writer and actor strikes. He predicted it would soon go “f—-gonzo.”
“Well, anyway, my plea to you all out there, closed-minded conservatives, closed-minded Trump voters… it’s either now or never. You know what I’m saying?” Levi said. Levi said. You don’t have to say it publicly if you can’t. I wouldn’t pressure you into doing that but if you are afraid of the backlash from an industry that is not likely to exist shortly, don’t let it hold you back.
Levi supported Trump at an event in September for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He explained that he originally supported RFK Jr., but switched to Trump when RFK Jr. halted his campaign.
Levi replied, “In a world perfect, I might have voted for Bobby. But we do not live in a world that is perfect. We live in a world that is very broken. We live in a nation that’s been hijacked and we want to stop it.”
“We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we’re going to make it healthy again. And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump… Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there,” Levi said.
