Jim Messina, Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, said on MSNBC that Kamala Harris’ campaign is forced to make difficult decisions ahead of the election.
Messina stated, “In politics, you need three things: time, money, and volunteers.” “The only thing you cannot get more of in politics is time.” There are some really tough decisions to be made right now in Wilmington about how you spend her time and how you use the surrogate’s time.
Messina said that Harris’ campaign staff looked exhausted because they were told they were a bunch of idiots and should go about it their own way. They also had to make some hard decisions.
The Harris campaign was criticized for its relative absence of interviews. Former President Trump and Sen. JDVance, R. Ohio, have conducted at least 88 unscripted interviews since the Harris/Walz ticket formed in early August, compared with at least 48 for the Democratic ticket.
Messina explained how in a campaign for a president, there are multiple teams vying to get the attention of the candidates.
Messina explained, “There are competing things.” The fundraising team wanted her to attend one more major event in X-city, but the press team wanted her on TV. Battleground states want her to come back three times more in Michigan.
According to the latest Fox News poll, Harris is ahead of Trump by six points among voters in the seven battleground states.
