Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States, was appointed to secure the border at the beginning of Joe Biden’s term as Presidential seat filler. She has done nothing to improve it. The southern border has seen a dramatic increase in illegal migration and its current state is worsening every day.
The situation has apparently escalated to the point that even leftist media, who are usually known for their defense of the Democrats, are openly calling Harris on it. Chuck Todd, of “Meet the Press”, was the one to challenge Harris’s claim that the border is safe by stating a simple fact.
“We’re here in Texas, I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?” asked Todd.
“I believe that it is clear that Congress must do the things that President Obama and I requested. Harris stated that the first request was to pass a bill to establish a pathway to citizenship.”
She then answered the question with an unbelievable lie.
She replied, “The border is secure, however, we also have an inefficient immigration system, especially over the past four years, and it must be fixed.”
“We are going to have 2 million people cross the border for the first time in history. Todd replied, “You’re confident that this border is secure?”
Harris quickly diverted the blame from herself, the Biden administration, and claimed that it’s secure in that it is a priority “in that that was a priority for any country including ours and their administration”, but blamed Trump and his government for making it so insecure that they are having to fix it.
Harris blamed Congress and border states like Texas for failing to create an easier pathway for immigrants seeking citizenship.
Because people are playing politics within a state such as this and Congress — by the side, you want bipartisanship to be discussed on an issue that was once a bipartisan issue. Both for Republican senators as well as presidents.

Although border security was once a bipartisan issue in the past, Democrats now claim that closing the border to stop illegal migration and opening it up is racist and xenophobic. It was popular for Democrats during the Trump administration to declare their cities “sanctuary” cities and virtue signal that anyone who wanted to deport someone was evil.
It’s a virtue Texas Governor Greg Abbott is currently testing, and it’s safe for us to say that the Democrats are failing that test.
The extent to which the media is willing to support the lies is a good indicator of the Democrat Party’s failure. While the media has done a lot to protect politicians and their jobs, it is not enough to detect if the problem becomes so serious that it is unsafe for the talking head to lie about it.
This is a strong indicator of the fact that the border has become dangerous for the left. Republicans also have a weakness they can highlight in the midterms.
