The speculation about his running mate has been sparked by the fact that former president Trump won the Iowa GOP caucuses, and polls indicate he will win the primaries in November and may even beat incumbent president Joe Biden. We can rest assured that it won’t be the former Vice President Mike Pence.
There have been many names floated, including South Dakota Governor Nikki Haley and former ambassador to the U.N. Kristi Noem is a former ambassador to U.N./South Carolina governor Nikki Haley. Sen. J.D. Vance (R – OH), former Arizona journalist Kari Lake, and Florida Rep. Byron Donalds are among the many others.
The guessing game for Trump’s running mate has begun – and Kari Lake seems to be the favorite
President Trump tells @ClayTravis and @BuckSexton he’ll consider @TuckerCarlson for VP: “I like Tucker a lot. I guess I would consider him. He’s got great common sense.”

Another name that’s been mentioned a lot is former Fox News host and media personality Tucker Carlson. In November 2023, the former president was a fan of the idea:
Melania Trump reportedly supported the idea on December 23. Carlson responded quickly by saying “I don’t have any interest in that.”
The speculation hasn’t ceased, though. On Thursday, Don Jr. said, on Newsmax Wake Up America: “I’d love to see it happen.”
“That would be on the table. Right? Don Jr. stated that they were very friendly and agreed on almost all of the issues.
I would love to have that happen. The former president’s son, who is the eldest, said that ‘that would be a contender’, and added that Trump, Carlson, and Carlson all agree on the need to stop the war.

Trump Jr., while noting that it was not up to him, said he wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would be chosen.
You need someone who is in alignment and also, like, aggressive. Don Jr. stated that you need to be a fighter.
The Republicans in Washington, D.C., have a weak hand. They will still do the same thing even if you have both the House and the Senate.
He has also expressed support for Trump’s Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson. However, there is one candidate he does not want to see get the VP nomination – Nikki Haley.
I would do everything in my power to ensure that it was not Nikki Haley. He said. “I don’t believe that’s really on the table right now.” This is my opinion. I do not make decisions.
Don Jr. refused to label Haley as a Republican during the show on Thursday, saying: “I think she is being funded by Democrats right?” You see it?
‘She has Democrat megadonors financing her campaign. The people who benefit from her victories in New Hampshire are Democrats.
‘I probably see it as part of the globalist Democrat RINO tactics of dragging out this to make it difficult for Trump to win a major,’ he said.
Carlson would be a great addition to the team, but I can’t see that happening, since talks would likely go nowhere fast. Carlson isn’t against the former president’s agenda or that he does not support him, but he enjoys his new streaming venture, “Tucker Carlson Network” and believes he can be more effective as an analyst than a politician.
It’s still an intriguing prospect. It’s also notable that the son of the president didn’t exclude DeSantis. Don Jr. appears to indicate that things can be resolved once the dust settles.
Although he is not the boss, he has the boss’s ear.
