The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been downgraded from questionable to doubtful for the game against the Seattle Seahawks. His illness, which he had been fighting, has worsened.

Hurts was not able to practice with the Eagles due to an illness that has yet to be disclosed. However, ESPN reported that Hurts would travel to Seattle with the Eagles to play the Seahawks.

ESPN reported that Hurts traveled separately from the rest of the team to Seattle to prevent anyone else from getting sick.

Hurts hopes to be healthy and play for the Eagles on Monday after two consecutive losses.

Marcus Mariota, Hurts’ backup, will be the offensive signal caller if Hurts cannot play.

Philadelphia has already suffered some major losses in their lineup before this important primetime matchup. Darius Slay is out of the starting cornerback position after requiring knee surgery. The Eagles are also without linebacker Zach Cunningham and right guard Cam Jurgens due to injuries.

The Eagles, at 10-3, are certainly in a position to make the NFC playoffs, but for now, they’re battling for seeding. Dallas Cowboys – arguably the hottest NFL team – swept the Eagles last week, vaulting them to second place in the NFC.

The Eagles have moved to the top five and now hold the first wildcard spot.

Philadelphia’s final three games are easygoing. The Giants will be playing them twice. However, they have been performing better in recent weeks, having won three consecutive games heading into their Sunday matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

These games will be played in weeks 16 and 18, with a meeting between the Arizona Cardinals in week 17.

Each win or loss will have a huge impact on the seeds for the playoffs.

The Eagles want their offense to be back on track after two consecutive losses against the Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers. They were outscored by 75-32.

Seahawks, who entered Monday with a record of 6-7, are also in the hunt for a postseason spot. Green Bay Packers, who are also 6-7 this season, hold the last wild card position.

Hurts’ importance to the Eagles cannot be overstated. They will hope that his symptoms improve, allowing him to help Philly end this losing streak, and keep their Super Bowl dream alive.
