Emergency in the Skies: Frontier Flight Catches Fire While Landing at Las Vegas Airport

As the plane landed at Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas Nevada on Saturday, a Frontier flight seemed to catch fire. Video taken by cell phones showed smoke and flames on the plane’s undercarriage when it touched down. As smoke continued to surround the plane, emergency vehicles, and fire trucks rushed onto the runway.

 

A spokesperson from the airport said, “Frontier Flight 1326 had a hard landing. The Clark County Fire Department responded instantly and all passengers, crew, and ground staff were safely transported to a gated area. No injuries were reported.”

 

 

Flight Aware reports that Frontier Flight 1326 departed San Diego at approximately 1:51 pm Pacific Time, and landed in Las Vegas at about 3:37 pm.

 

Frontier Airlines spokesperson said, “The pilots had detected smoke, and declared an emergency. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew members were evacuated by airstairs. There were no injuries reported and the passengers were safely transported to the terminal by bus. The cause of the accident is under investigation.”
