An independent transparency group estimates that Dr. Anthony Fauci will receive a pension of over $400,000 in the first year. This is more than the annual salary of the President of the United States.

Open The Books conducted a salary analysis and concluded that Fauci will receive $414,000 in his first year of pension. This is more than the $400,000 the president received.

Fauci suggested recently that he would retire at the end of President Biden’s first term. At this point, he will be 85 years old. He has also served as a federal worker for 59 years.

Open The Books evaluated Fauci’s current salary of $480,654 per annum, but it is expected to rise to $530,000 by 2024. They also factored in conservative pay bumps and annuities, based on past years, to estimate his pension.

Open The Books last year reported that Fauci was the highest-paid federal employee in America and earned more than the president and all generals in the military as well as the country’s remaining 4.3 million federal employees.

Fox News Digital’s Adam Andrzejewski, OpenTheBooks.com CEO and Founder stated that Dr. Fauci was the highest-paid federal employee over many years. Fauci will make more money than the leader in the free world in one year because he has the freedom to spend his time as he pleases. The amount of money that taxpayers can spend on Fauci in perpetuity is almost limitless.

Fauci’s NIAID didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Politico reported Monday that Fauci would retire at the end of Biden’s term. He has served more than 50 years in federal service under seven presidential administrations.

Reuters reported that the 81-year-old has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984. He was the American government’s face regarding the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

Fauci is now one of the most controversial figures in politics. He advocated for tight lockdown measures during the coronavirus epidemic. This plan has been criticized by conservatives, who accuse him of being inconsistent on issues such as masking.

Republican politicians, including Sen. Rand Paul, a physician, have also criticized Fauci’s agency’s connections to taxpayer funds that supported gain of function research on bats infected by coronaviruses at a Wuhan, China, lab.

“Dr. Anthony Fauci is a great bedside manner with the people, but he has been wrong about everything that I have interacted with him on,” Dr. Peter Navarro, former Trump trade advisor, said last year about his time with Fauci.

Fauci replied this week to the calls of Republicans in Congress to investigate Fauci’s leadership and COVID-19 response if the GOP regains the majority in either or both houses during this year’s midterm elections.

“They’re going to try and come after me, anyway. I mean, probably less so if I’m not in the job,” Fauci said. “I don’t make that a consideration in my career decision.”

“I don’t think they can say anything about the science,” he added. “If that’s what you want to investigate, be my guest. My telling somebody that it’s important to follow fundamental good public health practices – what are you going to investigate about that?”
