On Monday, a filing was made for Mike Pence’s 2024 presidential campaign. However, a spokesperson for the ex-vice president denied any involvement.

The filing was widely shared on social media. Devin O’Malley, the spokesperson for Pence, denied that Pence had ever filed.

He tweeted “Former Vice President Mike Pence didn’t file to run for President Today” and then said that someone had pranked the media.

Before he was elected to Congress in 2001, the Republican politician rose in popularity as a right-wing talk host in Indiana. In 2013, he was elected governor of Indiana. He was then selected by Donald Trump to become his vice presidential candidate in 2016.

Many on the left and those against Trump have criticized Pence for refusing to denounce Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was fraudulent. On Jan. 6, some rioters chanted for Pence’s arrest for refusing to call for a recount of election results.

Since then, he has publicly stated that he will not testify before the congressional panel investigating the Jan. 6 rioting at the U.S. Capitol.

Pence stated that “Congress does not have the right to my testimony.”

He said, “We have a separation in powers under the Constitution” and “I believe it would create a terrible precedent for Congress to summon a Vice President of the United States to talk about deliberations which took place at the White House.”

Former President Donald Trump announced his campaign for the 2024 election in November.

Despite Rev. Franklin Graham publicly announcing that he wouldn’t endorse anyone for the 2024 Republican presidential primary, his statement praising Pence raised speculation that Pence would announce his campaign soon.

Graham told reporters that he appreciated Vice President Mike Pence very much. There are many Republicans with great leadership skills, but Vice President Mike Pence has served the nation well.

He added, “And I hope that he continues to play a vital role in the service of this nation.”

Graham denied that he had endorsed Pence when asked about it. He said instead that they would go to eat fried chicken.
