The White House announced today that Joe Biden had tested positive for COVID-19, a day after he tried to backtrack on his false claim that he had cancer.
“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated in a Thursday morning statement. He is fully vaccinated, twice boosted, and has very mild symptoms.

Joe Biden is at high risk because he is 79 years old.
Jean-Pierre reports Biden is taking Paxlovid and is being isolated at the White House in accordance with CDC guidelines. Biden will continue to work in isolation “until he tests negative”, and will resume work once he has tested negative.
