The U.S. Marshals Service announced a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help capture a Texas woman accused in the shooting death of a professional cyclist.

Kaitlin Armstrong (34), is wanted in connection to the shooting death of Moriah Wilson (25-year-old from California). Armstrong was allegedly shot in Austin by a friend before a local cycling event. She had spent part of the evening with Armstrong’s 35-year-old boyfriend, Colin Strickland.

Investigators discovered Monday that Armstrong was “dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport on May 18th, a day after Austin police obtained an arrest warrant.” Marshals stated that Armstrong’s name was not connected to any outbound flights at Newark airport at the same time.

Armstrong flew from Austin, Texas to Houston and then New York’s LaGuardia Airport on May 14.

The Deputy U.S. The reward was announced Monday morning by Marshal Brandon Filla “for anyone who can generate any tip that leads her to her whereabouts.”

The U.S. Marshals stated that Kaitlin Armstrong was accused of a serious crime and she must answer. Susan Pamerleau, Marshal of the Western District in Texas. “She should surrender to authorities at this time, regardless of where she is so that she can return to Austin to answer the charges. She must know that the Marshals will not stop searching for her.”

Armstrong was interviewed by Austin police as part of an investigation into an unrelated warrant. Armstrong’s interview took place one day after the shooting. They were unable to hold Armstrong on this charge due to a clerical mistake. Wilson was found dead in her home and authorities claim that Wilson had fled the state days before the warrant for Wilson’s murder was issued by a magistrate judge.

She flew from Texas to New York and has not been seen since.

On May 14, an anonymous caller to Austin police stated that Armstrong had just purchased a handgun after becoming furious at discovering that Strickland had been in a relationship with Wilson months before. Police stated that one of the two 9mm handguns found at Strickland was “significant” to the investigation.

Filla stated that authorities have interviewed many witnesses on the East Coast in their continued search for Filla.

She is considered dangerous and armed.

Anybody with information about her whereabouts can call the Marshals at 1-800-336-0102, or Capital Area Crime Stoppers (800893-8477).

The description of her is White, approximately 5′ 8″ tall, and weighing in at 125 lbs. She is hazel-eyed, has long, curly hair,  and was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket with white jeans.
