Karine Jean Pierre, White House Press Secretary, became visibly agitated when asked about her claim a day before that illegal immigration was down 90% during the Biden Administration.

During the Fox News White House White House Correspondent Peter Doocy’s daily press briefing, Peter Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre about where she obtained the 90% figure and tried to cite U.S. Customs and Border Protection numbers which show that there were 136,000 encounters more this fiscal year compared to the previous year.

Jean-Pierre interrupted Doocy, who was clearly annoyed. He accused him of being dramatic and tried to prevent him from answering the question in full.

“I heard you – I was talking.” “I’m going to answer.” “If you could just tone down the drama a bit, that would be great,” she said.

“What’s dramatic about asking a question about …” Doocy asked before Jean-Pierre cut him off again.

Jean-Pierre continued to explain that she was referring to the “parolee” program that President Joe Biden implemented to “work with certain countries to find ways to limit illegal immigration.”

She seemed to be referring to the Biden Administration’s immigration program implemented earlier this month that allows 30,000 migrants to come from Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela each month.

“And we’ve seen – data shows that it is down more than 90%.” Jean-Pierre replied, “That’s who I was talking to.”

Doocy attempted to ask a follow-up question, but Jean-Pierre, appearing angry, quickly went to another reporter: “No. We’re going to go. We’re going to move. Go ahead. … We’re moving, Peter. Let’s go,” she said as Doocy tried to speak.

CBP reports that the fiscal year 2022 saw 2,378,944 encounters with migrants, which is the highest number ever recorded.
