A group of Leftist activists is calling for Justice Clarence Thomas’ resignation or impeachment from the Supreme Court.

MoveOn and Demand Justice, two Leftist activist groups, created a petition to call on Thomas to resign or face impeachment after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court. They fear that SCOTUS may soon overturn gay rights and contraception rights, according to MoveOn.
MoveOn stated that Thomas voted against the Supreme Court’s decision to compel Donald Trump to release records regarding the January 6 Insurrection and attempt to overturn the 2020 election results. This was because Thomas’ wife, Ginni Thomas (long-time conservative activist) actively encouraged the White House to reverse election results in the days leading up to and following the insurrection.

The petition had more than 1.2 million signatures. It was presented to Omar and Bowman.
Thomas is an originalist, which means that he believes the Constitution should be understood according to what the writers intended, and not according to what current culture demands. You get the meaning of the Constitution by reading it out, not in its meaning.
This is scary for Leftists because it means that they cannot redefine the Constitution to say what they want it to say. If the Left is this scared of Thomas, then he is obviously doing something right.
