Supermodel Gigi Hadid Arrested in Caribbean for Marijuana Possession

Gigi Hadid, a model from the Grand Cayman Islands, was arrested on July 10, after arriving with marijuana.

A representative for Hadid confirmed that “Gigi traveled with marijuana legally purchased in NYC under a medical license”, according to People magazine. Grand Cayman has legalized medical marijuana since 2017. She enjoyed her remaining time on the island.

Hadid posted a few photos and videos from her stay on the island soon after the news was released.

Our request for comment was not immediately answered by a representative of Hadid or the Grand Cayman Islands authorities.

Cayman Marl Road, a local outlet, reported that Hadid and his friends arrived on the island by private jet on July 10, and were processed at Customs and Border Control. The outlet reported that a small amount of marijuana – enough for personal consumption – and other drug paraphernalia was found.

The model was arrested, taken to the Prisoner Detention Center, and then released on bail.

Hadid reportedly appeared in summary courts, where she was fined $1000 and pleaded guilty.

Hadid shared photos of her vacation on Instagram.

“mornin!” she captioned a photo set four days ago.

One of the pictures showed a tattooed dragon on the Victoria’s Secret model’s hip.

Hadid shares a daughter with her former boyfriend, Zayn.

After welcoming Khai to the family in 2020, the couple split up in late 2021.

The model said in an interview with The Sunday Times, “She has given me so much.” “I’ve always wanted to become a mother, but it was never something I obsessively pursued or that I thought I was meant to do.” “Khai was born at a time when I was already quite organized.” “I’m so happy to be a young mother.”
