Videos of the Apalachee High School, in Winder (Georgia), following Wednesday’s mass shootout, show an air of calm despite the chaos.
Alexsandra Romero (15) was hiding with her classmates in a classroom when she captured footage of officers from the law entering the room. They then directed them to a corridor where they could exit.
An officer can be heard saying “Single-file line down this aisle after this deputy” “Hurry now, let’s get going. Come on, we have a school to evacuate.”
Romero told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she believed what was taking place was a drill.
Romero said, “I remember that my hands were trembling.” “I felt bad because everyone was crying and trying to find their brothers or sisters.”
A second video taken by the teenager on her way out from the school shows the body of a dead man covered in a sheet, with blood all around it. There are also firearms scattered on the ground.
