U.S. reports confirm that American Gad Haggai was killed during the Hamas terror attacks on Israel. Initially, it was believed that Hamas had taken him hostage in the aftermath of the terror attack.

The terrorist group is still holding Haggai’s body. His wife Judy Weinstein is also still held hostage by Hamas. She is 70 years old and a grandmother of seven.

According to The Jerusalem Post: “Senior Hamas Leader Ghazi Hamad stated on Thursday that his terrorist organization had ruled out any possibility of talks to revive the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian security prisoner in Gaza.”

President Joe Biden issued a statement in which he “reaffirmed the promise we made to the families of all those still being held hostage, that we will never stop working to get them back home.”

Jill and I are deeply saddened by the news. It is believed that Hamas killed American Gad Haggai on October 7, 2007. We will continue to pray for his wife Judy’s safety and well-being. Last week, their daughter attended my meeting with hostage families by phone. These families bravely told me about the ordeal they endured in the last few months while they waited for news on their loved ones. It’s intolerable. We are mourning with them and praying for their children, grandchildren, and other loved ones. And I reiterate the promise we made to the families of all those still being held hostage, that we will never stop trying to bring them back.

Biden said that the suffering of families who are still waiting for news about their loved ones is “intolerable”.
