Arrest Made in Virginia Mall Abduction of 3-Year-Old Child

A Virginia woman arrested on Thursday was accused of abducting a three-year-old at the Tysons Corner Center Mall.

Jane Pyo, 33, was charged with abduction, possession of burglarious tools, and assault on law enforcement. She was also charged with trespassing and was served an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

Fairfax County officers saw Pyo talking to the child and holding his hand. Pyo reportedly then walked with the child into Tysons Corner Center.

In a police statement, they said that “Pyo had been seen picking up the child and going down the escalator.”

Officers located her and the child in a Coastal Flats Restaurant at the mall. Pyo is accused of assaulting officers as they took her into custody.

The child was safely returned to his family. Fairfax County Police Department has said that they will provide resources and assistance to the child’s parents.

The statement said that “Victim Specialists from our Victim Services Division were assigned to ensure victims receive appropriate resources, assistance, and support.”

Pyo was transported to the Adult Detention Center of Fairfax County, where she is being held without bond.

Fairfax County Police Department is investigating the case. At this time, there are no further details.
