Mark Antony’s response to Marcus Tullius Cicero’s “Philippics”, in which Cicero called Antony every Latin name in the book, was to send soldiers to kill Cicero. Cicero was killed even before the Roman Republic fell.

I am not going any further. If possible, approach the veteran soldier, and cut off his neck.

Antony ordered Cicero’s head and hands to be nailed to the Rostra in the Forum. This was done to encourage others.

Politics has become less brutal in recent years. William Braddock, a Republican challenger and former rival of Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), was charged on Sunday for allegedly hiring a hit team.

A former congressional candidate is charged with threatening a hit squad to take out his political rival when he ran against Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.)

William Braddock (41) of St. Petersburg, Florida is accused of allegedly making threats against his rival in 2021.

The prosecutor didn’t name the victim. At the time, he was fighting against Republican Luna and allegedly called him a “dead squirrel” and “a bump in the road”.

Doesn’t it seem pretty obvious who is the target? Braddock was recorded by an activist.

A conservative activist recorded Braddock making a chilling comment against the future Sunshine State Representative.

In an audio clip, he was reported to have said: “I don’t want to end anybody’s life for the good of people of United States of America.”

“That will break my heart. But if it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Luna is a f—ing speed bump in the road. She’s a dead squirrel you run over every day when you leave the neighborhood.”

We do not need this type of rhetoric in the United States right now.

Rep. Luna is lucky that hit squads aren’t only in Beirut or Caracas. Braddock, on the other hand, may have fled to the Philippines and then been deported to the U.S. If convicted, Braddock could spend five years in prison at the Graybar Hilton. The amount of money spent on this hit seems a little low for a US House of Representatives Member. In recent months, we have seen not one but two attempts to assassinate a former US President.

Both Democrats & Republicans must tone down hateful rhetoric The situation is getting out of hand.
