There are many reasons to hate Dr. Anthony Fauci. Remember how he lied to the National Institutes of Health about the funding gain of function research on that very virus Fauci used to make our lives miserable.

You can also talk about the horrible puppy experiments under the watchful eye of the doctor. Don’t forget to mention how he sowed panic over a heterosexual AIDS epidemic that never happened.

Fauci is poised to take home the largest federal retirement package ever — if he retires.

OpenTheBooks.com’s auditors estimated that Dr. Fauci would retire at a staggering $350,000 per year. His pension and benefits would increase annually through cost-of-living adjustments. Fauci is a federal employee with 55 years of experience.

Fauci was the highest-paid federal employee for the second consecutive year. He outperformed the president, four-star generals, and approximately 4.3 million of his coworkers. Fauci was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, earning $434 312 in 2020. This is an increase of $417,608 in 2019.

Federal employees are told by the Office of Personnel Management that CSRS can only provide 80 percent of your highest-3 average salary plus credit for sick leave. This applies to those with more than 41 years and 11 months of service at the time they retire.

He has more than enough service to be eligible for the 80% threshold with a staggering 55 years. Forbes calculated Fauci’s pension payment based on his three-year-old salary to be $333 745 per year. This doesn’t include any possible raises he might have received prior to this fiscal year.

Fauci makes so much money. Open The Books documents show that Fauci received a 68% increase in his pay between 2004-2007 to compensate for “the degree of responsibility… particularly as it relates to biodefense research activities.” He will continue to get raises until 2020, at the most.

Fauci isn’t ready to retire and make big money yet. Fauci told ABC’s Jonathan Karl that he will not be leaving this job until things are under control. That’s what we do.

He told reporters last month that he would continue doing this until the COVID-19 epidemic was under control, regardless of anything anybody may say about me or want to fabricate crazy things because of political motives.

Forbes concludes that “Few could credibly say someone who stays in federal service for approximately55 years is ‘in the money.’ Dr. Fauci’s highest salary in government would not discourage him from extending his tenure.”

Fauci isn’t likely to stop growing in popularity any time soon. These figures for retirement and salary are expected to continue rising.
