Fox News Confronts Democrats In Washington About The Border Crisis

Fox News asked Washington Democrats to explain how America can secure its borders when so many migrants cross into the United States each day.

Fox visited Washington to interview members of President Biden’s administration, who insist for months on America’s southern border being secure. Fox News asked for an interview with Alejandro Mayorkas (Homeland Security Secretary), but was denied. Mayorkas refused to answer any questions from the outside of his capital home.

Ayana Pressley (D-Mass) was one of the congressmen who refused to deal with Fox’s border crisis. ; Cori Bush, D-Mo. ; Benny Thompson (D-Miss.) and Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.

However, Texas Democratic Reps. Colin Allred and Veronica Escobar were open to speaking with Fox and expressed concern over the border crisis.

Cuellar stated that Democrats must acknowledge that their party controls Congress, the White House, and that they “own” the current border crisis.

Meanwhile, Democratic leaders on Capital Hill tried to defend Biden’s handling of the immigrant crisis. Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, acknowledged the need for “secure our borders” but said that Biden had a plan.

Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer blamed Republicans on a lackluster progress in immigration. He said they are against any compromise.

As Republicans look to take control of the House of Representatives, and possibly the Senate, the Democrats are in a state of instability. Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, says Republicans will immediately focus on reforming policies if they win the chamber in November.

Many speculated that Republicans might move to impeach Mayorkas. But McCarthy said that their first priority would have been passing legislation that would secure the border and repeal funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, which enlisted an additional 87,000 IRS agents.
