The Biden administration pushes for radical transgender ideology in the medical field. This is one of the most troubling aspects of their administration.
Patients who do not have a medical reason for taking hormone blockers or puberty blocks may be prescribed. Some patients may be referred to “gender-affirming” surgeries, which can cause permanent harm to their bodies.
The U.S. District Court Northern District of Texas ruled in favor of the transgender lobby. It ruled that Biden’s order regarding these matters was illegal.
America First Legal (AFL) won a major victory for both its clients and for all doctors in the United States. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas issued an Order declaring that the Biden Administration’s order requiring doctors to provide transgender service, including prescriptions of hormone therapy and “puberty blockers”, was illegal.
Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) prohibits discrimination on federally-funded health programs “based on sex.” But, the Biden Administration unilaterally decided – based upon an atextual interpretation and a misinterpretation of the Supreme Court in Bostock – that section 1557 of ACA prohibits discrimination in federally funded health programs “on the basis of sex.”
This is a serious problem.
While there is no evidence supporting this, suicide rates are frequently mentioned. But, it isn’t clear that giving children hormones or cutting off their bodies reduces suicide rates.
Biden’s administration took a clause from the Affordable Care Act, which stated that you can’t discriminate based on “sex”, and changed it to state that they cannot discriminate based on “gender identity.” A person could go to a doctor and get a counter-reality about their “gender,” then demand the doctor help them. This is not how the medical profession should operate. The government threatened with federal funding suspension (e.g. Medicaid). Doctors who refuse such insane behavior are considered tyrannical.
The Texas ruling is a positive step in the right direction. This is dangerous considering that all Americans require healthcare services.
