Police Release Security Video of Family of Four Kidnapped at Gunpoint

After police said that the suspect in the crime tried to commit suicide, they released a shocking video showing a four-member family being kidnapped in California.

The incident occurred in Merced County, California’s central valley, near San Francisco.

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, its investigation started when a pickup truck that was on fire belonging to Amandeep Singh, 39 years old, was discovered abandoned. It reached out to his family members who eventually reported that four of the victims were gone.

The police announced that the three adults and a baby 8 months old were taken from the trucking company of the family at gunpoint.

The police released a security video that showed the man entering the business with his gun and leaving with four family members, including a baby who was only eight months old. Aroohi Daheri, Jasleen Kaur, Jasdeep Singh, Jasleen Kaur, and Amandeep Sing were the victims.

Some kidnapping victims looked like they had their hands tied together with zip ties.

Investigators stated that they were tipped off Tuesday by someone who had used the debit card belonging to one of their family members at an ATM in Atwater. He was identified as Jesus Manuel Salgado, 48, and they called him a person in interest.

They claimed that Salgado tried to kill himself before the law enforcement officers took any action. Police said that Salgado was in a hospital and could not speak due to his condition.

Two days later, the family is still missing and investigators need your help to locate them.

Vernon H. Warnke, Merced County Sheriff, stated that Salgado was a robbery victim in 2005 and was released in 2015.
