Former Trump ambassador to Iceland decides to use his influence and experience to enter the race. Jeff Gunter announced his candidacy Monday. He has aligned and embraced his former boss and is betting that Trump, regardless of indictments, will be the Republican candidate for president in 2024.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Iceland Jeffrey Gunter announced Monday that he’s running for the U.S. Senate in Nevada, making him the third high-profile Republican to enter the GOP primary.
Gunter was the U.S. Ambassador to Iceland from 2019 to 2020 under President Trump. He joins Jim Marchant, a former Nevada Secretary of State candidate and retired Army Captain. Sam Brown is running in the GOP primaries to unseat Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen.
Jeff Gunter is running for the U.S. Senate. Gunter, in a three-minute ad, said he was “honored and humbled” to have served as Trump’s ambassador in Iceland. He fought against the deep state and fought China, and fought Russia’s presence in the Arctic.
Dr. Gunter was interviewed exclusively by The Nevada Globe on Saturday. He affirmed that he supports a Trump Presidency and is committed to working with him.
I support him 1,010%. He is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln. The first false impeachment and the second false impeachment were both false, and now we have bogus charges. The Deep State and bureaucracy take precedence over the American people. This is an enormous weaponization of the government against President Trump. The Deep State is not after him. They are after us, and he’s just getting in their way.
Many people are concerned about my running. Many people have opposed my running as an America First Candidate. We will win, and we will succeed. Many people have already shown me great support.
Nevadans will be prosperous under his presidency and mine as US Senator.
Dr. Gunter has joined what is quickly becoming a crowded GOP field. Tony Grady, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force and a former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, entered the race on Tuesday. Adam Laxalt is not in the field yet. The former attorney general of New York State gave Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez Masto a good run for her money in 2022. She lost the race by just 8,000 votes.
Dr. Gunter’s campaign video combines professionalism with a community-oriented, folky feel. He is outspoken against Jacky Rose and the Biden agenda. This shows that he’s not going to just play along.
Joe Biden is a total train wreck for the country.
Dr. Gunter waxed poetic about his role of ambassador and the positive things that happened under the Trump Administration.
All the doubters were proven wrong by President Trump. He moved the US embassy to Jerusalem. Our economy was the best in 70 years, with low inflation and unemployment, no wars abroad, and stronger border protection. He did everything he promised. This is what leadership looks like.
The opportunity to become an ambassador to Iceland was a blessing. I was active in the embassy as well as the local community. I implemented the America First policies set forth by President Trump. The Deep State does not like you when you do this. The State Department removed 120 achievements that we had listed on their website. We achieved 120 things in 20 months.
In his video, Dr. Gunter makes it clear that he is prepared to fight for the election of the former president again. Dr. Gunter, Nevada’s Senator, plans to work with Trump to restore Trump’s America First agenda.
